Creating the Extraordinary Student Experience: Office of Student Life

What is The Process?

Participating in Open Doors and becoming an Open Doors Partner is a simple 5-step process.

Step 1: Sign Up

Fill out this form (Word Document) and email it to opendoors@osu.edu to schedule your organization or group to go through the Open Doors Training or email opendoors@osu.edu to see what trainings are already being offered for the quarter and sign up to attend one.

Step 2: Attend Your Scheduled Training Sessions

Open Doors is a 3- part training program that takes four hours to complete. All Open Doors Partners must attend all four hours to be certified as Open Doors Partners.

Step 3: Get Certified

After you have completed all 3 Modules, you will have the opportunity to sign the Open Doors Certification Agreement and become an Open Doors Partner. This certification process will be handled at the end of Module 3.

Step 4: Stay Engaged

After you are certified, you will be granted access to the Open Doors Carmen Site that has a list of resources to help you as an Open Doors Partner. Use this tool! Additionally, there are many ways you can continue to grow your skills in dialog, listening, confronting bias, and working towards becoming a global citizen.

Step 5: Step 5: Stay in Contact

If at any point you need help or support, email opendoors@osu.edu. We will check in with you on a semester basis to see how you are doing: feel free to check in with us!
